| DVD was introduced in USA in 1997. DVDs have the same physical dimensions as a CD (4.75-inch diameter) but can store 4.7GB of data as compared to 700MB in a CD. The CD can store approximately 290,000 pages of A4 text, 500 high-quality color photographs and over 1,500 low-density 5.25' disks and 760 3.5' disks. The CD was originally made to store audio in digital format. |
